This season, Canadian-Italian soprano Alexandra Delle Donne performs with the Edison Singers as a soloist in their upcoming season: Royal Splendours, Handel's Messiah, Christmas Carols, and Folk and Spiritual concert series. She was a soloist with them for their 2022/2023 season, which included Handel's Messiah, Faure's/Durufle's Requiem, and Rachmaninoff's Vespers. 

 

She will also be performing with Toronto City Opera in their production of Susannah, as Mrs. Gleaton. Alexandra had the pleasure of performing with Toronto City Opera at their recent 2023 Viva Voce Gala as the soprano soloist. She also sang with them in Don Giovanni as Elvira's Maid/Chorus in February 2023, and had a thrill performing the role of Frosch in their production of Die Fledermaus, June 2023.

 

Alexandra holds a Master's Degree in Historical Voice Performance from the University of Toronto under direction of the esteemed Daniel Taylor.

 

She joined COSA where she premiered as Cosmetician #2 in Palej’s The Art of Love. She was also involved with COSA Creates, where she co-curated and performed in multiple concerts.

 

Alexandra made her debut as a lead in Vera Causa Opera’s (now known as Fuse) film production of Humperdincks' Hansel and Gretel, as Gretel in 2020. The performance is still on YouTube for all to enjoy! Other exciting news includes her involvement with Amplified Opera located in Toronto, Ontario as their student intern. Alexandra did a variety of tasks for this incredible organization, including voice over work, and social media communications.

 

She had the pleasure of performing in a variety of online concerts and festivals, which include the University of Toronto three Vocalis concerts, the John Beckwith Songbook concert, Guelph’s Hillside Inside, and the Guelph Multicultural Festival happening June 13th, where she will be singing in Korean, Spanish, Italian, and German.

 

She previously performed with Opera In Concert (OIC) and Toronto Operetta Theatre (TOT) under the direction of Guillermo Silva-Marin and Robert Cooper. She was a featured soloist in Acis and Galatea under the direction of Larry Beckcwith, Isaiah Bell, and Eric Thor with the Collegium group at the University of Toronto. She was a soloist in Purcell's King Arthur, conducted by Christopher Bagen. June of 2019, she had the privilege to participate in the prestigious Tafelmusik Baroque Summer Institute, under the direction of Ivars Taurins.

 

She has had the pleasure working with VCO (Fuse) in 2018/2019 with productions such as Puccini's Le Villi, and Donizetti's The Elixir of Love. Alexandra also premiered in Dylan Langan's Dracula, as Wife #1. 

 

 In the past she has performed with the COC in La Bohème, and Carmen due to her participation with the Canadian Children’s Opera Company (CCOC) in Toronto. Alexandra was with the CCOC for six years performing in numerous operas and concerts such as, The Magical Land of Og, Laura’s Cow, and Dickens of a Christmas. 

 

When she is not performing in operas and choral events, Alexandra enjoys competing in numerous voice competitions, such as NATS, ORMTA, and Guelph Kiwanis. In 2013 and 2014 she came in first place for the ORMTA Provincials Grade 9+ in Toronto, as well as achieving first place for the NATS provincial Women’s Junior Division in 2013 and 2014 in Indiana, and Michigan. In 2015 she won first place in the ORMTA regionals, and in 2016 had the pleasure of performing at the Sicilia Canta where she embraced her Sicilian heritage.
